For those of us more akin to a relaxed interior vibe, perhaps living by the sea or simply favouring a vintage style interior look rather than the neutral, sophisticated style of Kelly Hoppen (love it though we do), we think we´ve found the ultimate furniture piece to grace your home, making laid-back living seriously stylish…
…When we came across ´The Duke´ dining table by highly acclaimed furniture manufacturers, Freshwest, we were not only captivated by it´s sleek look, but it´s surfing inspired design. Named after, ´the godfather of modern day surfing´, Duke Kahanamoku, the table successfully combines function with experimental style and is based on the laminate and wood design of 1950´s surfboards.
What´s more, as design duo Marcus Beck and Simon Marco work from their studio in Pembrokeshire, the table is in fact made from three locally sourced woods – ash and cherry, as well as a dark drift wood found washed up on the Pembrokeshire coast shore after a winter storm a few years ago. The dimensions of the table are 170cm x 90cm and you can buy the piece from Coterie Design, an interiors store based in Haverfordwest. It seems like surfers everywhere might suddenly find interiors interesting!
