If you´re a self-confessed interiors enthusiast with children then you might, like us, be on the quest for stylish places to stay with kids. ´Easy!´ you say. ´Not so,´ we reply…well…that was until we stumbled across ´Baby-friendly Boltholes´ – a unique website that sources stylish holiday hideaways for adults and children alike.

 

Set up by founder of Baby-friendly Boltholes, Sian Williams, little over three years ago, Baby-friendly Boltholes is a collection of stylish and child friendly holiday accommodation, from cute, vintage-themed cottages to funky farm stays, chic chateaux, boutique hotels, glamorous villas and luxury B&Bs; and what´s more, all are run by people who know it takes more than a cot and a highchair to make a child-friendly holiday, and want kids to have fun whilst parents feel special.

 

Setting up her user-friendly but comprehensive, online catalogue of places to stay that combine style, attention to detail and facilities that any sytlista would expect when holidaying in the UK or abroad, Sian explains how her enthusiasm for providing parents with much needed breaks in places they really want to stay has revolutionised how we holiday with pre-schoolers. ´When my daughter was born in 2005, my eyes were opened to a whole new world of holidays, and, after a 12 year career spent in the luxury travel business I realised there was a huge gap in the market for child friendly breaks for boutique hotel junkies.

 

´Like most parents, I thought holidays and mini-breaks would never be the same again with a baby or toddler in tow. Thankfully I was wrong. Friends and colleagues in the tourism industry and the travel media came forward with recommendations that promised I wouldn´t have to sacrifice my tastes for my toddler or return needing another break to recover! Before I knew it, I had a list of baby-friendly accommodation that I´d not just be happy to visit, but actually excited by the prospect and I decided to spread the word via Baby-Friendly Boltholes.´

 

´And the Wales at Home hot pick?´ we hear you ask…we think The Old Surgery in Tetbury, (Prince Charles´ home town due to it being the location of his Highgrove Estate), is just the ticket for lapping up a serious dose of enviable interior style with friends and family in-tow. Owned by a talented photographer, the decadent but uber cool interior is a style fix of the highest order, and a smattering of fantastic original prints and fabulous contemporary artwork, as well as a working open fire, modern roll top baths, and an Elizabethan-esque courtyard (perfect for lazy summer evenings sipping a glass or rose whilst the children safely run around) is all you could ask for when it comes to a short break away.
